Healthy travel tips and essentials for your next vacation

Must-haves for spring break travel
THIS POST CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS.  SEE MY AFFILIATE POLICY HERE.
I’m going to assume that most of you are going somewhere warm for spring break.  Because that’s what most sane folks who live in the tundra do.
Not the LeVander’s. We go from MN all the way south to…..Colorado.  Ok, a vacation to Beaver Creek, CO is nothing to scoff at.  There’s fabulous food, tons of sun, spas, warm chocolate chip cookies every day at 3 pm, and the apres ski scene is quite lively.

For those of you actually going to the beach (and not the outdoor heated pool like I’ll be at) here are some tips and essentials you’ll need for spring break:

Travel first aid kit
You want to have some of the essentials with you, especially if you’re not going to be close to a natural foods store.  I did a whole video on what I pack in my travel first aid kit.  Check that out here.  You can also find links to all the items I have in my kit here.
Travel-size beauty products
It can be harder to find travel sizes in the natural beauty lines.  So I would recommend planning ahead.  Head to Whole Foods, your local co-op, check on Amazon, or call the company directly.  This is especially important if you’re flying and everything needs to go in a carry-on.  I like to get the travel-sized bottles from the company and just refill those as needed.
Check out this video to see 3 of the beauty products I don’t travel without.

Products recommended in the video:
Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap-travel size
Aura Cacia Argan Oil
Beautycounter Cleansing Balm
Sunscreen
By now, hopefully, we all know the importance of this one.  I bring a sunscreen for my face and a separate one for my body.  I did a whole video review of my favorite safe ones here.  Find a link to my favorites here.
BYO washcloth and pillowcase
Not necessary, but if you have very sensitive skin, it’s a good idea.  These are the closest to our face, and they have been washed multiple times with bleach and other chemicals.
No-hangover pill
Just sayin’.  If you plan to have a little fun on spring break, this one will be your best friend.  Just take it anytime when you’re having a drink and you’ll feel way better the next day (not that I’ve experimented…).
Travel snacks
I always carry plenty of snacks.  I don’t want to be caught hangry and with terrible options.  Here are some of my family’s favorites.  I also have a video on this one here.
Couple other quick tips:
Look ahead of time at these websites to see if there are any farm-to-table restaurants in the area you’re traveling to:
www.localharvest.org
www.eatwellguide.org
Also, scout out if there are any natural grocers ahead of time and stop there on the way to your hotel.  I always have a grocery list ready so that we can get exactly what we need quickly.  Kids and husbands are not too patient when they’re ready to get to the beach!
Remember to buy water for the hotel room.  Buy a few big jugs and have everyone bring their water bottle from home and refill as needed.  I like having a wide-mouth bottle so that I can put in some greens powder or protein powder.  I love these for traveling as I don’t get in as many veggies as I do at home.
And if you are going skiing like me, don’t forget your altitude meds (Chloroxygen and Altitude Adjustment), eye drops, saline nose spray, and lotion (because it is sooooo dry!).
Happy Traveling!
What are your must-haves to bring with for spring break?

Such helpful tips! I always carry some basic medicine with me (for headache, vitamins and for flu). I think is more specific if the country that you are going to visit has specific requirement for drugs that you can carry with yourself.
