If you love smoothies, but can’t imagine having a cold smoothie in the winter, than this post is for you. I’m right there with you. I want to get a bunch of veggies in at breakfast, but no way can I have a cold smoothie in a Minnesota winter.
I was skeptical when I first heard of a warm smoothie. It did not sound appealing.
But one try and I am hooked. I change things up a little with what greens I use or what tea, but this has become a fast favorite for me.
It’s also very easy to make, which is the only way to go at my house.
Warm Apple Coconut Green Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 Cups kale
- 1 Cup Coconut Milk
- 1 Cup turmeric-ginger tea
- 1 apple cored
- 1 banana
- 1 date pitted
- 1 tsp. spirulina
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- dash of cardamom
Instructions
-
First pour boiling water over your turmeric-ginger tea bag and let that steep while you get the rest of the ingredients ready.
-
Blend all in a high-powered blender until smooth and serve.
Recipe Notes
Put the tea in last so it stays hot.
This makes 2 servings. I put one in a wide-mouth mason jar with a lid for a snack for later or for breakfast the next day.
Here’s where I get my ingredients from:
-
Native Forest coconut milk, organic (comes in BPA free cans!)
-
turmeric ginger tea
-
organic dates
-
spirulina powder

This mix looks awesome! Not something I would ever have combined together but I am open to new possibilities!!

Gigi, Yes! I was VERY skeptical at first. Now this, and a piece of toast, is my new favorite winter breakfast.
